Heterotrophic bacteria in water

The total microbiological count of water is called heterotrophic plate count (HPC). The HPC includes all microorganisms, including bacteria and yeast and molds that require a high carbon source.

Bacillus cereus

The BC plate contains x-phos chromogenic agent that allows detection by enzymatic reactions in an incubation time of 24 hours.

Fecal coliforms

Coliforms are facultative anaerobic, gram-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore-forming, anaerobic bacteria commonly found in the intestine of warm-blooded animals and soil.

Escherichia coli p.

Compact dry for Escherichia coli ECO is a ready-to-use chromogenic plate for the detection of E. coli (24 h).

considered / coliforms

Escherichia coli is a coliform found in the instestine of warm-blooded animals, it is an excellent indicator of fecal contamination. considered is important in the food safety industry

Enterobacteriaceae

A family of Gram-negative bacteria known to be facultatively anaerobic, non-spore-forming and commonly motile. The Enterobacteriaceae family includes important food-borne microorganisms and certain intestinal pathogens such as Salmonella spp. y Shigella spp.

Enterococcus spp.

Enterococci are abundantly found in the gastrointestinal tract of humans and animals. It can therefore be used as an index of good hygiene and sanitation. Enterococcus species form blue/blue-green colonies of 1~2 mm diameter. The count range is 1 to 300 CFU/plate.

Listeria monocytogenes

Compact Dry LM method procedure for the detection and enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes

Listeria spp.

Compact Dry is a simplified medium for the detection and enumeration of Listeria spp. thanks to the combination of selective agents and chromogenic substrates.

Pseudomonas spp

Some Pseudomonas spp. can also create red colonies, but they are never surrounded by a yellow greenish halo. Antibiotics in the Compact Dry PA nutrient medium will inhibit the growth of different species mentioned above. Count range 1-200 CFU/plate.

Salmonella

Culture media for the determination of Salmonella are based on their biochemical reactivity and motility. The presence of Salmonella in the sample is detected by the combination of 3 different test principles, alkalinization of the medium (medium color change to yellow), greening colonies (black as well), and motility

Vibrio parahaemolyticus

It is a gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium characterized by a rigid curve, usually motile due to a single polar flagellum. Vibrio is commonly found in seawater, as it can tolerate a high concentration of salt.

Total Count

The mesophilic aerobic microorganism count, under established conditions, estimates the total microflora without specifying types of microorganisms which develop in the presence of oxygen at a temperature between 20°C and 45°C specific to the microorganism.

Compact Dry TCR

Compact Dry TCR plates within their composition contain nutritional components that promote rapid growth of microorganisms, allowing enumeration after 24 hours of incubation

Molds and yeasts

They are spore-forming, heterotrophic microorganisms and require organic materials that they use as a source of energy and as carbonate skeletons for cell synthesis. They are widely distributed in nature, being found in very diverse habitats, hence their frequent appearance as alterants in food.

Molds and yeasts Fast

They are spore-forming, heterotrophic microorganisms and require organic materials that they use as a source of energy and as carbonate skeletons for cell synthesis. They are widely distributed in nature, being found in very diverse habitats, hence their frequent appearance as alterants in food. They achieve their development in 3 days.

aureus

Gram-positive bacteria used as an indicator of personal hygiene of food handlers.
